PART THREE: WHY A CHRISTIAN APOLOGIST WROTE A BOOK ABOUT ANIMALS IN THE AFTERLIFE

“A powerful case for animal immortality, well-researched and well-written.”
                                                                                 Dr. John Warwick Montgomery

In part one of this three-part series, I explained why a book on animals in the afterlife has great potential as an apologetic/evangelistic point of contact with non-Christians. In this week’s blog article, I’m going to write a few words about the book itself. Will Dogs Chase Cats in Heaven?: People, Pets, and Wild Animals in the Afterlife is my newest book, which was just released and is now available on Amazon. I spent three years researching and writing this book, and I believe it demonstrates that the answer to the question of whether or not pets and other animals will inhabit Heaven is an enthusiastic, YES!

Will Dogs Chase Cats in Heaven? is not a sentimental, fluffy treatment of the topic—as are many other books in this genre. Rather, it is thoroughly researched and well documented—both biblically and scientifically—and it includes many of my personal experiences as well as anecdotal stories from novelists, popular animal researchers, pet owners, and the testimonies from well-known Christian apologists and scholars. And it’s just plain fun to read.

But don’t take my word for it. I encourage you to read some of the reviews posted on my Amazon book page. They will not only reinforce my claim that the book has great evangelistic and apologetic potential, but, more important, they also explain why Christians themselves can benefit from the book. There is much more to Will Dogs Chase Cats in Heaven? than the immortality of animals.

You can access my Amazon book page by going to the home page of my website, www.danstory.net, and clicking on the book cover photo or title. Either one will take you directly to my book page on Amazon, where you can read some reviews as well as the publisher’s description of the book. (I include a more detailed description, as well as the contents, on my website. Click on “Description” at the bottom of my home page.)

I hope you take the time to read the book yourself. I’d love for you to share your thoughts and experiences.

NEXT WEEK I’ll begin a new blog series titled, “Bible Scholars Who Believe in the Probability of Animal Resurrection” (adapted from one of the chapters in my book). It will include quotes and comments from well-known apologists and theologians, such as C.S. Lewis, Peter Kreeft, Martin Luther, John Calvin, and others.

This, and all my blog series, can be read at www.danstory.net/blog. If you would like to receive notices when I post a blog article or other writings and teaching activities, please go to my website, click on the “contact” button, and send me a request. I do not share email addresses.
